Ray Manzarek and Robby Krieger bring the legend that is The Doors to life in Edgewater's E Center Saturday, April 28th, 2012. Formed in 1965, the little known band out of Venice, California, took music's center stage in 1967 when "Light My Fire" shot to the top of the charts. Jim Morrison, Ray Manzarek, John Densmore, and Robby Krieger went on to reshape the landscape of music with a sound that fused flamenco guitar, bossa nova percussion, spook house organ, and poetry. In 2009, founding members Ray Manzarek & Robby Krieger lit a new fire using their familiar monikers; Manzarek-Krieger.
This year, the band with vocalist Dave Brock on board and will embark on a series of dates celebrating the 40th anniversary of the Doors' final album, LA Woman.

Paul Anka

Singer, songwriter and actor Paul Anka rocketed to fame as a 16-year-old teen idol in 1957 with his number 1 hit "Diana". Over the next decade, Anka wrote many hit tunes, including "You Are My Destiny", "Lonely Boy" and "Put Your Head on My Shoulder". He also wrote the Academy Award-nominated theme for The Longest Day, the 1962 film in which he also appeared, the "Tonight Show" theme song for Johnny Carson, and "She's A Lady" for Tom Jones. By the 1970s, the success of Anka's tune "My Way", performed by Frank Sinatra, and a string of hits including "(You're) Having My Baby" confirmed his status as an icon of popular music.
